The Moravian Tuscany , known in Czech as Moravské Toskánsko , is a very picturesque region in the southern part of Moravia. It is located in the Hodonín district, near the town of Kyjov. The most beautiful views can be found near the following villages: Šardice, Karlín na Moravě and Svatobořice. Interesting places can also be found near Želetice, Čejkovice, Stavěšice, Velké Bílovice, Věteřov, Čejč, Hovorany, Strážovice

It’s one of the most beautiful regions in the Czech Republic and perhaps one of the most underrated. The rolling hills are reminiscent of the Italian region of Tuscany, hence the region’s name. If you’re a photographer or simply enjoy landscape photography, you’ll thoroughly enjoy Moravian Tuscany. Bring a long zoom lens. You’ll have a great day, literally and metaphorically!

Still not convinced? Here is a small gallery demonstrating the beauty of Moravian Tuscany.

The starting point for this unforgettable journey is Šardice, rightly called the heart of Moravian Tuscany. Sometimes things come together perfectly… and here they truly did. Within the village are some of the most beautiful filming locations in Moravian Tuscany. You will see at least one of them during this trip. You can reach Šardice by bus and, of course, by car. (If you are driving, you can park your car at the town hall, the residence, or in Orlovna.)

Right next to the bus stop, you join the green hiking trail and follow it to the Augustinian residence. (The folk costumes of Šardice are incredibly beautiful. You’ll finally see what a Kordulka or Fjertoch is in the residence.) On the way from the residence, turn right at the first bend and Chalůpka No. 97 (Hut No. 97) will appear before you. Walk through the village streets to the Mutěnka cycle path and then to the  Soudek viewpoint You’ll hardly find a lookout tower like this anywhere else! After a few steps on a forest path, you’ll find the beautiful Šardice biodiversity strip. Indescribably beautiful, it will unfold before you. It’s a true paradise for photographers, romantics, and incurable aesthetes. We swear you won’t find more beautiful pictures of rolling landscapes anywhere else in the world. The Italian Tuscany is nowhere near as beautiful as this place. How about a snapshot with the Výrubkova wayside chapel, for example? No wonder photographers from all over the world come here.

Other popular shooting ranges can be found along the road from Šardice to Stavěšice (we’ve marked them on the map just in case). Don’t rush, where else can you see something like this?

End your tour in the village of Stavěšice, from where direct buses run to Kyjov and Brno, or you can walk back to your car in Šardice along the organic trail. You’ll be admiring the photos from this trip for a long time to come!
