To understand the range of Chodovar, we tasted three distinctive varieties for you:
1. Chodovar President Premium (Stock)
Character: The brewery’s flagship beer. A light lager with a rich, golden-yellow color. The flavor is dominated by a delicate malt sweetness and a pleasant hop bitterness in the finish. Very drinkable and well-balanced.
Goes perfectly with: Classic roast pork or goulash.
2. Chodovar Zámecké Černé (Dark)
Character: A pitch-black castle dark beer. Here, roasted malt aromas meet nuances of caramel and light dark chocolate. Despite its dark color, it is surprisingly light in body and not too sweet.
Goes perfectly with: Smoked meat or chocolate desserts.
3. Chodovar Skalní ležák (yeast rock beer)
Character: A naturally brewed, unfiltered lager. The remaining yeast gives it a creamier and fuller mouthfeel. It tastes incredibly fresh – almost as if you were drinking it straight from the lagering tank in the rock.
